Help support the United Way of Thurston County’s (UWTC) Annual Drive-Up Shelter Shower on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 12-3 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to shower two local shelters by driving up and dropping off a number of unwrapped household goods at the easy and convenient drop off event where volunteers will unload each vehicle.

The organizations chosen as recipients of the current initiative are SafePlace and Family Support Center of South Sound, both located in Olympia. Each group relies on such contributions to assist families in crisis and to support those who have faced, or are dealing with domestic violence and abuse.

Some of the items needed include diapers, blankets, personal hygiene and hair care products, and gift cards, to name a few. Specific needs can be found here.

“Our community’s generosity during this time of crisis is humbling,” Chris Wells, UWTC executive director, said in a release. “Every year, we are overwhelmed by gratitude for our community.”
