Travel guru Rick Steves is heading to Pacific Lutheran University March 22 to receive the 2023 Wild Hope Award. He also will give a presentation, Travel as a Wildly Hopeful Act, at the 7 p.m. event.
“Rick Steves embodies the mission of the Wild Hope Center, and we look forward to learning from him and celebrating his commitment to human and ecological flourishing,” said Samuel Torvend, faculty fellow in humanities and Wild Hope's director for external relations, in a release.
Widely celebrated for his work as a television host and activist, Steves is also the founder and owner of Rick Steves’ Europe, a travel business that brings more than 30,000 people to Europe every year.
At PLU, Steves will share insights from his years of traveling, exploring Europe and new cultures.
