Tacoma residents have a chance to help Metro Parks in creating a master plan for Portland Avenue Park that will best suit the community.
With funding allocated by previously approved bond dollars, a new vision of the park is limited only by the imaginations of Eastside community members.
Park-goers and neighbors alike can offer suggestions through a series of in-person meetings by using a new interactive online tool, or by attending a public workshop on Oct. 27.
“We are collaborating with the local community to create a park that really takes community needs into account, especially historically underserved groups,” Kristi Evans, project manager for the park plan and improvements, said in a release. “We invite everyone to come and tell us what they would like to see in their park.”
