Find all things comic con and rare collectibles from Funko Pops to cosplay apparel, autographs, comic books, and everything in between at Unlock the Con, now open at a new and bigger location at the Outlet Collection Seattle in Auburn.
Unlock the Con was created by owners, Barry and Ashley Weaver out of a passion for pop culture memorabilia in October of 2020.
Their small store was such a hit that they expanded to the larger location with the goal of bringing the convention experience to people.
From con events and around Washington and Oregon, as well as other regions, the Weavers find those unique, one-of-the-kind items for those that may not have the chance to experience the events themselves.
“It’s the full experience,” Barry said. “There’s really not much you would do at a comic con other than stand in line — you can’t do at our shop.”
With a smash of a grand opening at the end of August, complete with DJ, promotional specials, and even appearances by voice actress Tara Sands of Pokémon fame, and Sandy Sellner of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Weavers have found their niche.
The venue will continue to host signings and appearances by comic con personalities, like voice actor Bryce Papenbrook of Attack on Titan and popular anime Demon Slayer, coming up on Nov. 13. Check here for more details.
“We’re doing what we love and meeting the greatest people,” Barry said. “We’re a part of a great community. Our customers make us feel like what we’re doing is just so important that it really gives us a value beyond owning a collectible store... They’re so gracious, and friendly. They make us really feel good about what we’re doing.”
Unlock the Con is open Mondays and Thursdays 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
