Seattle Seahawks Blitz hits the road for a good cause. During the new initiative Kicks 4 Kids, Blitz aims to raise money to distribute 3,000 pairs of shoes to children in need. The seahawk will be riding his Phat Scoot Scooter from Stateline, Idaho to Lumen Field via the Washington State Parks bike trail system. By donating, fans can support his ride across the state with all funds going to purchasing new shoes for kids.
Blitz will depart from Stateline, Idaho on Monday, Aug. 30 and will arrive at Lumen Field on Friday, Sept. 3 making various stops along the route. On Thursday, Sept. 2, Blitz will make a stop at Suncadia Resort’s Nelson farm from 5-7 p.m. There will be a photo opportunity where fans can donate to Kicks 4 Kid through the Seahawks Women Association.
Donations made at the resort will be donated by Kicks 4 Kids to the local organization, The Shop — a nonprofit run by The Community Builders serving the youth of upper Kittitas County and their families. To celebrate this new initiative, Suncadia Resort partnered with Snoqualmie-based Dru Bru, Seattle-based Sugar & Spoon, and Roslyn-based Who’s Doggin Who Hot Dog Food Truck.
Suncadia general manager Noni Hughes said in a release they are committed to supporting the local community.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Blitz on his journey in establishing confidence and success ahead of the school year,” she said in the release.
