Lowe’s Build & Grow

Hey, moms and dads, remember those Lowe’s Home Improvement kids Build & Grow clinics that got cancelled a few years ago? Turns out, Lowe’s has begun relaunching the program in a few select markets, and our region just happens to be one of them. Head to your local Lowe’s from 9 a.m. to noon, where your child will don their complimentary apron and construct a “Build-a-Saurus.” Spots are limited and online registration is required.

Brew Five Three

Come out and celebrate your South Sound pride this Saturday at Tacoma’s Brew Five Three beer and music festival. From 1 to 8 p.m. on Broadway between Ninth and 11th Streets, enjoy beer and cider from more than 40 Northwest vendors while enjoying the tunes of the Washington Scottish Pipe Band, Mirrorglass, Take It to Space, and more. This 21-and-over event is dog friendly. Purchase tickets in advance or at the gate; discounted admission will be given to designated drivers.

Music From Home

Sometimes the thought of leaving the comfort of our own homes can trump our desire to go out and experience new things. Luckily, Tacoma-based Lakewold Gardens has solved this conundrum by offering a series of public musical storytelling sessions in a living room-like atmosphere. Designed to celebrate the live musical expression of womxn and people of color, this inclusive monthly series kicks off at 3 p.m. this Sunday with featured pianist Farshad Zadeh. Check online for a full list of dates and performances.
