    Inside a Historic House in Tacoma

    You could say it was love at first sight. When Andrea and Dr. Tom Molloy were looking for a home three years ago, they fell for the 1908 house in the historic Stadium District in Tacoma they live in now. “This home was the first house we looked at,” Andrea said. “After viewing a large amount of other homes we realized we were comparing them all to this one. It is the only house that we had a clear vision of how our family would live in it and make it our haven,” she said.

    When Travis Guterson was a teenager, he dreamed of beer — but, unlike many curious teenagers, his dream was of brewing it. Later, after a series of stints in three Northwest microbreweries and a fortuitous meeting with Mike Runion, who became his business partner, Guterson was ready to engineer a great brew of his own. 7 Seas Brewing Company and a very creative brewmaster were born.

    The newcomer, her lower leg wrapped in purple tape, plays with the automatic water dispenser, tossing her head, drinking and splashing water. A 3-year-old mare, Little Ava, has recently arrived from Emerald Downs in Auburn. The purple tape signals her professional racing days are over.
