Take Care of Your Heart
Posted @ 04:42PM on 02/14/2011 by Lauren - Eat DrinkHeart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States, according to the American Heart Association. Every year about 785,000 Americans have a heart attack and another 470,000, who have already had one or more heart attacks, have another attack.

South Sound B&Bs
Posted @ 11:00AM on 01/21/2011 by Lisa - Home GardenLet’s be honest. Having the whole family over for the holidays is nice, but it’s also exhausting. Let someone host you for a weekend at a local bed and breakfast for some homey comfort away from, well, home. Perhaps it’s just what you need, a vacation close enough to drive to, but far enough to feel the stress melt. From turn-of-the-century Victorian mansions to modern abodes area B&Bs have it all, and then some.

Putting the Green in Evergreen
Posted @ 01:14PM on 01/05/2011 by Lisa - In PrintHere's a sentence no one has probably ever typed before: “The fritter-fratters at the Flaming Eggplant are amazing.” Actually, Sharon Goodman, the director of residential and dining services at The Evergreen State College in Olympia may have typed it once or twice. The fritter-fratters are her favorite dish at the student-run Flaming Eggplant, a café on campus. “It involves making French fries with a variety of root veggies,” she says. “Fry them in oil, and serve hot!”

A Classic Love Affair
Posted @ 12:00PM on 10/01/2010 by admin - In PrintInside a Historic House in Tacoma
by South Sound Staff, Photos by Dane Gregory MeyerYou could say it was love at first sight. When Andrea and Dr. Tom Molloy were looking for a home three years ago, they fell for the 1908 house in the historic Stadium District in Tacoma they live in now. “This home was the first house we looked at,” Andrea said. “After viewing a large amount of other homes we realized we were comparing them all to this one. It is the only house that we had a clear vision of how our family would live in it and make it our haven,” she said.
